Lord of the Rings is a Tabletop Wargame that allows you and your friends to recreate full-scale battles set in Middle Earth. You can choose to lead the armies of the Fellowship of the Ring or the denizens of Minas Morgul. Either way Lord of the Rings guarantees hours of fun playing, painting armies and re-living the epic moments of the classic novel.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Starter Set
This crammed 2-player starter box is the easiest entry point for aspiring commanders. The box contains everything necessary for you, and a friend, to start assembling your own army. The box contains:

• 24 warriors of minas tirith
• 24 mordor orcs
• Full colour rules manual
• Stone ruins of middle-earth
• Game-dice
  

Blister Packs
Blister Packs contain miniatures that are vital additions to your army. Commanders, Standard Bearers as well as elite troop types all come in blister packs, usually containing between 1 and 3 highly detailed metal miniatures, depending on the troop type. Blister Packs vary in price according to content.

Boxed Sets
These boxed sets are great value for money and contain a set of miniatures based on epic moments in the Lord of the Rings novel, such as ‘Attack at Weathertop’ and ‘Battle of Kazak Dum’, the latter containing the highly detailed miniatures of Gandalf and Balrog.

Lord of the Rings is a turn-based game that is played on a table. Battles are as complex or as simple as you wish. You may want to play on your kitchen table with a pile of books and boxes representing hills, bunkers and other terrain. Many, however, prefer playing on a table that is embellished with miniature buildings, trees, ruins, rivers and other terrain that gives an incredible feel to the game. Such terrain can either be bought ready made or can be custom made by yourself and your friends!

In Lord of the Rings, every troop type has its own characteristics such as ‘movement’, ‘weapon skill’ and ‘strength’ to mention a few. This means that Uruk-Hai Warriors with a movement value of 10 may move 10 inches during their movement phase. The rules of the game are much simpler than they sound and all you have to do is actually try out the game once!
