WHAT IS POKEMON TRADING CARD GAME?
 Welcome
to the Pokémon World, a special place where
people just like you train to become the number-one
Pokémon Trainers! But what is a Pokémon?
Pokémon are incredible creatures that share
the world with humans in Pokemon World. There
are 150 different Pokémon. And your incredible
task is to capture, train, and fight with all
of them! It's not easy, but once you get the hang
of it, you'll know exactly which Pokémon
to choose for a battle. On your way to the top,
you'll perfect your skills by using your Pokémon
to fight against other Pokémon trainers.
Each Pokémon has its own special abilities.
Though they come in many shapes and sizes, even
the smallest Pokémon can launch a fierce
attack. Some Pokémon grow, or evolve, into
even more powerful creatures. But don't worry
- even your toughest Pokémon will be loyal
to you!If you play the Pokémon Game Boy®
game or watch the Pokémon cartoons, you
already know the basic ideas and goals of the
trading card game!

Starter Set
Your way to become a Pokémon Trainer
starts with the 2-player Starter Set. It
contains all you and a your friend need
to start:
- Two 30-card decks.
- One holographic (i.e. shiny!) card
- 10 gaming counters
- 1 starter game guide
- 1 rule book
Themed Deck
Pre-constructed Themed Decks are pre-set
decks of 60-cards constructed by the experts
on Pokémon and based on particular
Pokémon (therefore called ‘themed’).
They are powerful and ready-to-play, the
perfect next step to become a better Pokémo
Trainer
Booster Packs
Once you learn the game you can construct
your own deck. As a Pokémon Trainer
you would want to insert your own choice
of Pokémon to surprise your opponents.
The 11-card booster packs are the best way
to collect new Pokémon to play with,
collect and trade! Each booster is random
but always contains 1 rare and 3 uncommon
cards.
