What are the Magic Nationals?

They are the ultimate Magic tournament in the Maltese Islands, the one event that decides beyond doubt who is Magic king for 2010. It is also one of the best ways to improve your DCI international ranking as a Magic player.

Moreover the Nationals will be umpired by Cristiana Dionisio, an official Magic Judge hailing from Italy. Her smile might be sweet but the lady keeps a tight fist on the events!

Who can participate?

Everyone. Yes... even if you are new to the game you can participate! You might not go far but it is a great experience and fabulous way to learn new tactics by facing worthy opponents.

What are the prizes?

Besides the right to boast that you are the best Magic player around for a year,if you win you get a trophy and a heap of magic boosters. The 2nd to 4th placed also get booster prizes. And if you don't win? You still get an Exclusive Promo Card - there is one for every participant. This gives you the right to sneer at the losers who 'chickened' away from the Nationals!

How does it work?

Every participants take part in a 3-round standard event and a 3 round booster draft event. "Standard" means using your own deck and "booster draft" means building a deck from 5 random boosters that you are given on the spot. The top 8 from these two events go on to battle it out in single elimination matches culminating in the final.

There is a participation fee of €30.00 per player, which, however, includes the 5 boosters you are given for the booster draft event - which you take home with you of course!
